Update: Less than 24 hours after I wrote this journal, I got my PC back. New record time for reality to contradict something I have just stated in public. It's actually embarrassing.

But seeing how all my data was transferred (seemingly) intact to a new disc, it's all good and well again. Thanks everybody for your supportive comments.


Sort of.

More precisely, my hard drive got damaged by some sort electrical anomaly. Surprising what a mere split-second blackout/power surge/whatever can do when the things suppossed to protect your computer don't do their job.

Now after months of neglecting backing up, the future of my files is uncertain.

But anyway; whenever I go out and say that I'll be out of contact, it happens that things turn get back to normal sooner than I expected. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll happen once gain .
